The Zoiglhaus Brewing Wort Share is back!! After a COVID hiatus, we are ready for the next installment of the Zoigl-Wort Share! We are firing things back up with a wort that is very dear to our hearts. The Northern German-Style Pilsner, exemplified by the great breweries in Flensburg and Jever, is the basis for our Zoigl-Pils, which won Gold at the 2017 GABF. Drier and more hop-focused than any other Pilsner style, the Northern German Pilsner has a crisp, dry snap to it, accentuated by a blend of German bittering and noble hops.
We ferment ours with our Haus Lager strain, but you should feel free to experiment with your yeast selections. Go traditional and lager this as is, or go another direction with American, Belgian, English, or German ale strains, throwing in extra dry hops, candi sugars, or whatever else comes to your wickedly creative mind. This would make a great Cold IPA or Italian Pilsner with the addition of your choices of hops.
As usual, bring your carboy and airlock to the brewery and we’ll set you up with a 5 gallon batch of wort and your choice of yeast to pitch.
