What is Portland Beer Week?
Portland Beer Week is eleven days of fun, educational, eye and palate opening eating and drinking events in the greatest beer city on earth. More than just a beer festival, Portland Beer Week is a celebration of craft beer culture and all of its tangents from food pairings to beer ice cream, artwork and design, film and science. Though our namesake is for the city of Portland, Oregon, we are not exclusive to only local brands and companies, we wish to bring the best of the beer world to Portland. Our goals are to showcase the world of beer in the greatest beer city on earth from brewer’s dinners, to tastings, seminars, festivals and games. Our grass roots organization was founded by beer journalists, taproom and bottle shop owners, craft beer entrepreneurs and brewery marketing experts in an effort to expand beer education and promote our city.
Getting Involved
Portland Beer Week makes room to participate even at small levels from the neighborhood pub or nano brewery to large beer distributors and grocery stores. The minimum level of investment is small which gets your events on our official calendar and website. If you are looking to showcase your brand or products there are many more opportunities to co-brand or participate in events with thousands of attendees.

HISTORY
Portland’s Beer Week was founded in 2011 when the organizers realized the city needed a beer week of it’s own. First held in August of 2011 during the Beer Bloggers Conference, Portland Beer Week started with only a dozen or so events and a budget of only a couple hundred dollars. This is a grassroots organization that has grown and evolved over the years to offer a curated calendar of events year-round with emphasis on originality, creative, palate and mind expanding and educational events. Portland Beer Week is organized by a very small independent team. We are not corporate, we are craft.
