Come one, come all, as on June 9th the 5th Annual Weird Beer Bonanza rolls into Portland and takes over Imperial Bottle Shop on Alberta Street! You will be amused by the mysterious, speculate the strange, ponder the peculiar, be astonished by the abnormal, fawn over the freakish, and most importantly… drink some weird-ass beer!!! As part of your Portland Beer Week, be a little daring and try some brews that strayed from the beaten path to scintillate your taste buds with the weirdest of ingredients and brewing methods.

The Weird Beer Bonanza commemorative drinking jar costs a mere $5, and drink tickets $1.50 each. All weird beers will also be available by the 12 oz glass. Tap list tentatively includes:

– Base Camp Brewing Company Chantrelle & Rosemary Nieuw Bruin

– Burnside Brewing Co “Who’s Umami” Shitake Mushroom Porter

– Dogfish Head “Dragons and Yum Yums” pale ale brewed with a combination of dragonfruit, yumberry, passionfruit, pear juice and black carrot juice

– Double Mountain Brewery & Taproom “Aging Experiment 9 ¾” Barrel-Aged Sour Stout

– Everybody’s Brewing Clear Beer

– Falling Sky Brewing / Alesong Brewing and Blending collaboration “SkySong” Sahti, a traditional Finnish style brewed with oats, rye, wheat, juniper boughs instead of hops, and a hefeweizen yeast strain

– Montavilla Brew Works Old Montavillan strong ale aged on Palo Santo wood

– New Belgium Brewing “The Hemperor HPA”… the beer that smells like weed, man

– Oregon City Brewing Company El Rio de Crimea Baltic porter with Happyrock El Chupacabra roast cold-brewed coffee, Mexican vanilla beans, Saigon cinnamon, and cacao

– Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider “Jon Tieste’s Tonic” aquavit-inspired cider with caraway, cumin, black pepper, fennel and lemon

– Stickmen Brewing Company Tryptophantastic Blended Sour Stout

– Wolves & People Lupercal Dark Saison w/Lemon

– Zoiglhaus Brewing Company / Widmer Brothers Brewing collaboration “High Desert Wit.” A wit beer inspired by the Oregon wilderness featuring sage, juniper, and… deer antlers!
